Talented individuals with a passion for the culinary profession are in high demand. Our culinary program prepares students for a successful career on board a ship. A combination of practical sessions and language lessons help students adjust. In the English stage of the program, students learn to communicate with guests. Also, students discuss interests with peers and work together to understand written English. To this end, they are able to interact while on the job.
Prep and cooking sessions cover basic meat science, soups and sauces, and much more. This stage introduces students to key ingredients and kitchenware. Information sessions address cooking methods and galley safety standards. What’s more, hands-on sessions cover basic food groups and proper storage and handling. Training also introduces students to recipes which use these standard cooking methods.
In this blended learning environment, we test knowledge before and after lessons. This tracks student progress and learning transfer. Also, our mobile application lets students practice their English skills on the go. In addition, certified language instructors and experienced professionals lead classroom and practical exercises. That is to say, students finish the program armed with hospitality know-how.
