Housekeeping Program
Our housekeeping program includes practical sessions and lessons that support English ability. In the English phase, students learn to interact with guests. Furthermore, students collaborate with peers to discuss interests and complete tasks. Instructors address pronunciation and sentence structure. As a result, daily language lessons improve speaking, reading, and writing skills. Of course, these skills are critical for success in the department.
Housekeeping personnel play a big role in the success of cruise ship operations. In fact, passenger safety and ship cleanliness are top priorities for cruise lines. Our students get detailed instructions on how to complete routine tasks. In turn, the quality and consistency of their work shows. Practical sessions focus on stateroom service, public health, use of chemicals, and more. Because housekeeping is a team effort, we prepare students in the areas of communication and work flow.
In this blended learning environment, we test knowledge before and after lessons. This tracks student progress and learning transfer. Also, our mobile application lets students practice their English skills on the go. In addition, certified language instructors and experienced professionals lead classroom and practical exercises. That is to say, students finish the program armed with hospitality know-how. See below for a complete list of topics included in the program:

Once students complete the housekeeping program, we teach interview skills. Specifically, topics cover body language and appropriate dress. We also address grooming norms and common interview questions. Also, students apply useful resume tips. To conclude the two-day workshop, students take part in mock interviews. Then they get feedback from peers to hone their skills.
